All high-school-aged students from Navajo and Apache counties, including homeschoolers, are eligible to submit original artwork for the 39th Annual Juried High School Exhibit, sponsored by Northland Pioneer College (NPC). Artwork selected for this year’s exhibit will be featured online at NPC’s Talon Gallery webpage from April 1through May 10, 2025.
Artwork in any media is eligible, including two- and three-dimensional art or graphic designs and photography. Entries are not limited to class assignments and students do not have to be enrolled in art or photography classes to submit their work.
Best of Show prizes will be awarded for entries from High School Seniors who are eligible for NPC art tuition scholarships (worth up to 15 credit hours each). Students do not need to be art majors to accept the scholarships but will be required to take one art class per semester to maintain the scholarship award. Certificates are awarded for winning entries in either 2-dimensional – Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Photography, Computer Illustration, and Graphic Design – or 3-dimensional – Sculpture, Ceramics, Jewelry, Fiber Arts, Glass, Wood, Metal Art, Weaving, or any other 3-D material.
The exhibit’s jurors will be composed of NPC Art Faculty. Selections will be based on creativity, originality, craftsmanship, and the quality of images. NPC Talon Gallery Director and Art Faculty Magda Gluszek said, “It is an honor to have one’s work chosen for a juried exhibit in a show like this.” The show will be limited to three entries per student, and submissions must not have been previously shown in the Talon Gallery.
