Role & Purpose of President's Cabinet
The purpose of the President’s Cabinet is to advise the president on achieving the mission of Northland Pioneer College (NPC), provide primary leadership support for strategic priorities and initiatives, enhance communications within the college and the community, and facilitate cross-unit collaboration.
The role of the President and Cabinet is to provide leadership consistent with the mission, strategic goals, and culture of NPC. The president and the Cabinet consider recommendations from key college advisory committees in carrying out their responsibilities. The president and Cabinet are responsible for:
- Establishing and ensuring compliance with administrative policies and procedures
- Developing a strategic plan with clear institutional goals and report on achievements
- Assessing the College’s budget and recommending allocation priorities
- Assessing financial and operational risks and modifying or establishing new internal controls to mitigate risks
- Ensuring college compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Promoting collaboration among divisions, departments, and programs on college-wide goals, initiatives, and projects
- Serving as liaisons to key college advisory committees
