Dr. Von Lawson, became the tenth President of Northland Pioneer College (NPC) in January 2025.
Dr. Lawson, brings an impressive breadth of experience in leadership, education, and workforce development. With a distinguished career spanning roles such as Dean of Instruction at Mt. San Jacinto College and leadership positions at Santiago Canyon College, Orange Coast College, and Metro Tech Technology Center, Dr. Lawson has consistently championed student success and community collaboration. He has developed innovative programs that bridge education and workforce demands, including partnerships with industry leaders, apprenticeship programs, and initiatives to enhance college access for underserved populations. Dr. Lawson is particularly passionate about creating pathways for students to achieve their academic and professional goals while fostering inclusive, community-focused environments.
Dr. Lawson's legacy is defined by his dedication to excellence and innovation. He has secured multimillion-dollar grants, streamlined institutional processes, and developed transformative programs like the Focus on Excellence initiative and tribal partnerships for healthcare education. His work has earned recognition from governors and national organizations alike. A product of a Historically Black College and University (HBCU), Langston University, Dr. Lawson is a lifelong advocate for equity and opportunity in higher education. At Northland Pioneer College, he is excited to immerse himself in the communities of Northeastern Arizona and is committed to empowering students and building meaningful connections with regional partners to advance education and economic development.
