🎓 CONGRATULATIONS! IT'S TIME TO GRADUATE!

If you are nearing completion of your degree/certificate requirements and are getting ready to graduate from NPC, you must complete the following GRADUATION REQUEST and APPROVAL process. 

IMPORTANT DEADLINES:
You must complete a request to graduate and initiate the graduation approval process by:

  • October 15 for Fall graduation
  • February 15 for Spring graduation
  • July 1 for Summer graduation

NPC HOLDS ONE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY IN MAY FOR ALL GRADUATES (Fall, Spring & Summer)! 
*There is NO GRADUATION APPLICATION FEE

NPC GRADUATION STEPS

THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS FOR LATE REQUESTS/APPLICATIONS!

1 REQUEST TO GRADUATE >

COMPLETE A REQUEST

To graduate from NPC, you must complete a Request to Graduate with your academic advisor. This can be completed via this online form (link above) or in person at any NPC location. Once your request is processed, your official graduation application will be submitted to the Records and Registration Office for processing.

Completion of the Request to Graduate does NOT guarantee approval of graduation. 

2 APPROVAL & INVITE >

 

Once your REQUEST TO GRADUATE is approved, NPC’s commencement team will ask you to complete the Commencement Participation Form. This form and a commencement packet will be sent to you in February or March via postal mail and email. YOU MUST COMPLETE the Commencement Participation Form by April 15, 2026 to walk at the May commencement ceremony.

3 GRADUATE INSTRUCTIONS >

 

Upon completion of the Commencement Participation Form, you will receive detailed instructions via mail and email from NPC on what to prepare for on the day of Commencement.

📌 IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Students who earn a Certificate of Proficiency that is less than 32 credits do not attend commencement ceremonies.
  • If you have 8 or fewer credits left to complete your degree or certificate and plan to complete the credits in the summer session, you may apply to graduate in the Spring and participate in the May Commencement Ceremony.
  • A student must remove any indebtedness to the college and resolve any outstanding holds on their account prior to the Request for Graduation deadline. Upon verification of completed degree or certificate requirements, NPC may automatically award degrees or certificates for students without a graduation application. NOTE: Automatic awards are not guaranteed and are dependent on verification.
  • *A student who is late in filing a Request to Graduate and the Application for Graduation may participate in the Commencement Ceremony the following year by sending a notification to the Records and Registration Office by the spring request/application deadline (email: evaluations@npc.edu). See the academic calendar for graduation application due dates.

Graduation Application Deadline: *October 15, 2025 (Fall Grads), *February 15, 2026 (Spring Grads), *July 1, 2025 (Summer Grads)

ATTENTION Graduates:

  • December Graduates: You should receive your diploma in the mail by mid-January. 
  • Spring Graduates: You should receive your diploma in the mail by mid-June.
  • Summer Graduates: You should receive your diploma in the mail by mid-August.

👉 FAQs About Commencement

1. Q. How much does it cost to participate in NPC's Commencement ceremony?

A. There is no cost to participate in Commencement and no graduation application fee.

2. Q. What will happen if NPC does not receive my Participation Form for the Commencement by the April 15th deadline?

A. You will still be allowed to graduate; however, you will NOT be able to participate in the 2026 Commencement ceremony. NO EXCEPTIONS!

3. When should I expect to receive my Participation Form?

A. All Participation Forms will be mailed and emailed out to eligible students in late March. 

4. Q. How much do the cap and gown cost?

A. Nothing. NPC provides caps and gowns. You may keep your tassel.

5. Q. How can I acquire announcements to distribute to my family and friends?

A. We will send out information regarding the Ceremony, and each student will be sent ten (10) free announcements. You will only receive the announcements if you are eligible to walk in the ceremony.

6. Q. When will I receive my diploma?

A. Your diploma will be mailed to you by mid-June to the address noted on your graduation application. The address on your application must match the address on file with the college.
