Summer registration underway

May 2, 2018 by Anonymous

Registration is now underway for summer classes at all nine Northland Pioneer College locations. Most classes begin June 4, with many general education classes, required for most degrees or certificates, being offered on the college’s interactive instructional networks.

NPC’s general education course credits transfer to Arizona’s public universities and other community colleges. NPC’s summer tuition is half price, just $36 per credit, potentially saving you thousands of dollars in tuition.

Students graduating from Navajo or Apache county high schools this year are eligible for “Fast Track” tuition scholarships to enroll in summer classes. These “Fast Track” Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-awarded basis. Students do not need to demonstrate financial need but are encouraged to complete the 2018 – 19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid, available at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

“Fast Track” applicants must either show proof of 2018 high school graduation or present a letter from their high school counselor stating the student is on track to graduate by the end of the 2017–18 school year or graduated at mid-year. “Fast Track” students will be required to pay any course fees and for their own textbooks. Scholarships can be used for both on-site and online classes.

“Fast Track” scholarships help with the transition from high school into college. This is the perfect opportunity for students who have been enrolled in dual enrollment or NAVIT classes to finish degree or certificate requirements or get a jump on other course work needed for a degree.

Prospective students are encouraged to call or stop by their local NPC campus or center to discuss educational goals with an academic adviser, and to complete placement testing required for many general education classes. For questions about the “Fast Track” or other scholarships, contact the Financial Aid Office, (800) 266-7845, ext. 7318. A current list of scholarships can be found at www.npc.edu/scholarships.

NPC summer course offerings can be viewed online at www.npc.edu/class-schedule. Summer registration continues during regular business hours at all NPC campuses and centers. When classes are in session, campus offices are open 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays. For other hours and contact information, visit www.npc.edu/office-hours. Returning students can also register online through their MyNPC account.

Online Kids College registration is also underway. For youngsters ages 6-14, NPC’s Kids College has classes in art, construction, theatre, science, math and engineering.
