A $500 first place prize awaits the winner of the 10th annual Community Talent Contest, sponsored by the Northland Pioneer College Student Government Association, on Friday, March 30, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) on the Snowflake/Taylor – Silver Creek Campus, 1611 S. Main St.

The runner-up takes home $250. A $50 cash prize will go to one contestant in the 5- to 10-years-old division. General admission for the show is $5, with age 5 and under free. Tickets are available through the PAC Box Office, 536-6250, or online.

Following auditions in Snowflake and Show Low, judges selected 26 acts to perform in this year’s competition. “We have singers, instrumentalists, hula hooping, gymnastics, ventriloquism, dance routines and a comedic motivational speaker invited to this year’s event,” noted Ryan Orr, student activities coordinator and SGA adviser at NPC. “This event draws a large audience to support their favorite contestants, so I would encourage early arrival or advance ticket purchase, to avoid being turned away because the PAC is full, which has happened in past years.”
