Auditions for the ninth annual Community Talent Contest, sponsored by the Northland Pioneer College Student Government Association, will be at the Holbrook – Painted Desert, Show Low – White Mountain and the Snowflake/Taylor – Silver Creek campuses on Friday, February 24, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Monday, February 27, from 4 to 8 p.m.; and Tuesday, February 28, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The competition is open to NPC students and community members, ages 5 and up, and will be divided into age groups. Contestants must bring their own music, instruments, accompanist and props. In past years, the show has featured singing, dancing and comedy routines.
A $500 first place prize awaits the winner of the talent contest on Friday, March 24, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) on the Snowflake/Taylor – Silver Creek Campus. The runner-up takes home $250. A $50 cash prize will go to one contestant in the 5- to 10-years-old division.
General admission for the show is $5, with age 5 and under free. Tickets are available through the PAC Box Office, 536-6250, or online.
