3-level self-defense class

SNOWFLAKE — “To defend yourself, you need to be fluid, like water,” explains Julius Marshall, instructor for a 12-session noncredit Hands-On Self-Defense course starting March 23 at Northland Pioneer College’s Snowflake/Taylor – Silver Creek Campus, 1611 S. Main St.

Marshall will guide students in hand-to-hand self-defense techniques, ground fighting and the use of sticks or other objects. The class (reference HPE 099x-40-73988) meets on Thursday and Friday evenings, 6 to 8 p.m., through April 28. The cost is $110. Students should bring two half-inch diameter dowels, 27 inches long. Students must be at least 17-years-old. No weapons are allowed on college campuses.

Sign up for the Hands-On Self-Defense workshop at least three days before the class starts to ensure it is not canceled due to insufficient enrollment.
