Regional qualifying rounds for SkillsUSA are now completed and students from Northland Pioneer College and the Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology (NAVIT) are gearing up for the statewide competition in Phoenix, April 3 through 4.

32nd Juried High School Art Exhibit

SHOW LOW — Lena Prein and Rachael Wynn, seniors at Blue Ridge High School, Josiah Whitesinger, a senior at Ganado High School, and Show Low High School senior Kelsey Kerr captured the Best of Show art scholarships in the 32nd annual Northland Pioneer College Juried High School Art Exhibit, on display through March 30 at the Talon Gallery in the Aspen Center on NPC’s Show Low – White Mountain Campus, 1001 W. Deuce of Clubs. Awards will be presented at a reception on Friday, March 2, at the gallery, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Scholarship Golf Tournament

Tournament and sensational additional prizes, including a possible $10,000 check for a Hole-in-One, are up for grabs in the Third Annual NPC Friends and Family Scholarship Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 28, at the beautiful Silver Creek Golf Course.Entry fee is $125 per person or $400 for a four-person team, which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch on the course and light reception during the presentation of awards following play. Register online. All proceeds go to provide scholarships for Northland Pioneer College students.

10th Annual SGA Talent Contest

Auditions for the 10th annual Community Talent Contest, sponsored by the Northland Pioneer College Student Government Association, will be at the Snowflake/Taylor – Silver Creek Campus on Friday, March 2, and the Show Low – White Mountain Campus on Monday, March 5, from 2 until 6 p.m. at both locations.The competition is open to NPC students and community members, ages 5 and up, and will be divided into age groups. Contestants must bring their own music, instruments, accompanist and props.

Employment in healthcare-related occupations is expected to grow by 25 percent or more during the next decade as more Americans reach retirement age.Explore these career opportunities during Northland Pioneer College’s Nursing and Allied Healthcare Employment Fairs at NPC’s Show Low – White Mountain Campus on Tuesday, February 27, and the Winslow – Little Colorado Campus on Wednesday, February 28. Both fairs are from Noon to 3 p.m. in the Learning Center on both campuses.
