Truth in Taxation and Budget Hearings

HOLBROOK — The Navajo County Community College District Governing Board will conduct Truth in Taxation and budget public hearings on the 2016–17 Northland Pioneer College budget and district primary property tax levy on Tuesday, May 17, starting at 10 a.m. (M.S.T.) in the Painted Desert Campus Tiponi Community Center Conference Room, 2251 E. Navajo Blvd.

Kid's College scholarships

“Every child who wants to participate in a 2016 Kid’s College class should be able to, regardless of the cost,” says NPC Friends and Family Executive Director Betsyann Wilson. That’s the idea behind the scholarships her group is offering to kids ages 6-14 in Navajo and Apache counties.

NPC/NAVIT students win 17 medals

Students enrolled in career and technical education programs at Northland Pioneer College and Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology (NAVIT) brought home 17 medals from the Arizona SkillsUSA competition in Phoenix, March 29–30.

Friends & Family raises $27,201

“It really IS a few caring people who change the world!” commented Betsyann Wilson, executive director of Northland Pioneer College Friends and Family, at the conclusion of Arizona Gives Day on Tuesday, April 5. The nonprofit alliance received $22,201 in donations plus a $5,000 bonus from Arizona Gives Day corporate sponsor 1st Bank to help support student scholarships.
