General Statement of Responsibilities

Stationed in the College and Career Preparation (CCP) classroom. Assists instructional staff, administers tests, tutors students, collects and enters student data in data base, and oversees the learning environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Word processing and data entry proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree.
  • Tutoring or teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Answer inquiries about High School Equivalency requirements.
  • Assists students with placement, registration, and instructional materials.
  • Administer assessments.
  • Initiate and manage student portfolios.
  • Work with Data Analyst to complete program reports.
  • Utilize classroom technology to support student connectivity and the learning environment.
  • Maintain activity log, attendance, and prepare summary reports.
  • Request and document equipment repairs.
  • Maintain security of lab and its contents.
  • Keep inventory of equipment and materials.
  • Collect and enter student attendance and other pertinent data into database.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills Required

Excellent oral and written communication skills. College-level proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics. Ability to work effectively with a variety of student and staff personalities and abilities. Ability to maintain a positive, pleasant demeanor during stressful situations. Ability to work persistently and cohesively with CCP staff college-wide to collect accurate data on time. Proficiency with word processor, data base and spread sheet software and internet. Ability to troubleshoot minor technology issues. Ability to multi-task, and move quickly and easily form one task to another. Strong organizational skills necessary.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without accommodation: Sufficient physical dexterity to use telephone, computer keyboard and other electronic equipment. Critical sensory requirements include vision (corrected to 20/20), hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly.
