Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Data collection and analytical experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience teaching adult learners.
  • Knowledge of National Reporting System.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with educational background in statistics, educational program delivery and management; and a minimum of two years of experience involving related research and analysis activities and projects associated with adult educational programs.

Responsibilities

  1. Develops and disseminates research on instructional performance.
  2. Provides research support for Developmental Services Department by designing appropriate surveys and other data collection instruments.
  3. Provides support for and/or develops research designs for projects and processes such as Program Review, Placement Instruments, Assessment, and Staff Development.
  4. Conducts research projects approved by the Department Curriculum Specialists such as placement analysis of adult education students, studies of course enrollment, course content review, etc.
  5. Provides research support for State mandated Adult Basic Education Projects and activities including assessment test instruments evaluations, analysis, and recommendations; orientation evaluation; analysis of evaluation data; design and implementation of follow-up evaluation activities.
  6. In conjunction with Information Services, develops and maintains a data warehouse and other databases (National Reporting System) using appropriate computer software.
  7. Assists college staff and faculty in the conduct of classroom research projects. Prepare reports with accompanying tabular, graphic and statistic content, descriptions of analytical methods used and narrative of findings and conclusions for program decision making and planning.
  8. Queries and manipulates databases.
  9. Travels several times per year to class locations for training and coordination of Learning Assistants.
  10. Participates in departmental, college, and state committees.
  11. Teaches six load points per academic year.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation

Initial salary range of $34,946 to $44,032 depending on education and experience.
